Visitor numbers for La Punta of the Cap de Creus are surprisingly high considering its state of disorganisation. The analysis concludes that the area needs to be ‘monumentalized’, and the zones for recreational use, including restaurants and sun and beach tourism, need to be kept separate. The plan is to distance the car park from the urban limits in seven stages, and from there to direct the traffic, assuming that this is the key to managing the area. For each stage the following variables are taken into consideration: identity, access model, capacity, network of paths, facilities, management and security, and finally enhancement of the territory.
