EIIP STUDY ON THE LANDSCAPE INTEGRATION AND IMPACT OF THE EXPLOITATION OF THE ‘CLOTES’ QUARRY

The ‘Clotes’ quarry exploits a crater of 24 ha, 600 x 400 m with a depth of 45 m on a high platform known by the name of ‘Les Garrigues’. Based on The Study of Environmental Impact, the EIIP proposes a series of environmental improvements which accompanies the exploitation project:

• Diversification of the orography. Starting at one bank, we propose 4 sections based on the point of exposure and covering of the ground that we desire.
• Transformation of the systems of water and drainage of rainwater in a system of superficial watering and diversification of the slope of humid zones.
• Diversification of the herbaceous covering, shrub and tree communities, depending on sun exposure, slope and drainage.
• Treatment of the limits of the exploitation by sections according to the views.
